Mrs. Sheldon (Marie F.) Hynek, a resident of the Manitowoc Health Care Center, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 20, 2006, at the Manitowoc Health Care Center after a courageous three year battle with cancer.
The former Marie Schiesl was born Feb. 20, 1943 in Manitowoc, a daughter of the late Herbert and Delphine Lallensack Schiesl. She was a 1961 graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, and graduated from Lakeshore Technical Institute in Cleveland, with a degree in computer programming. On Oct. 26, 1963, Marie was married to Sheldon Hynek in Manitowoc. Marie worked for the County of Door County in information systems retiring in 2004 due to illness.
Survivors include her husband: Sheldon of Manitowoc; two sons: Mike Hynek of Appleton and his special friend: Denise Dietz; Chris Hynek of Racine; one daughter and son-in-law: Lisa (Mike) Willman of Manitowoc; one grandson: Collin Willman of Manitowoc: her mother-in-law: Mildred Hynek of Manitowoc; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Ronald (Carol) Schiesl of West Bend; Eugene (Linda) Schiesl of Appleton; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Diane (Gerald) Schmidt. of Two Rivers: Carol (Dale) Holly of Shoto; Sharon (Fred) Jehle of Springfield, Tenn.; her dog: Sadie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Gerald Schiesl; and her father-in-law: Joseph Hynek.
A memorial service and burial of her cremated remains will take place at a later date per the wishes of Marie's family.
A memorial fund has been established in Marie's name for Door Cancer Inc. c/o Sheldon Hynek at 1410 S. 31st St., Manitowoc, WI 54220.
Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory of Manitowoc, will be serving the family.
Thank you to her friends, family and co-workers who helped her during her illness and for all the visits in her past three year battle with cancer. Your friendship will never be forgotten. A special thank to the Aurora VNA staff and the staff of the Manitowoc Health Care Center for their special care shown to Marie.
