Lowell Ray Overman, 83, of Shelbyville, passed away at 11:33 a.m. at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. Born November 27, 1923 in Linton, he was the son of William G. and Artie (Whitworth) Overman. He was an electrician for Knauf Fiberglass in Shelbyville. He was a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge in Shelbyville. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. Surviving relatives include: his wife, Imogene (Brown) Overman, whom he married June 15, 1940; one daughter, Myra Wilkinson of Indianapolis; one son, Dwight Overman of Fishers; one brother, Orell Overman of Switz City; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters. Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Prairie Chapel Cemetery near Lyons with Rev. Tom Lapham officiating. Military services will be conducted by American Legion Post 196 Bloomfield. There will be no public visitation. Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield, Indiana is in charge of arrangements.
