GIRARD — Louis Paolone, 85, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, at his home.
Louis was born June 13, 1934, the son of the late Sylvester and Angeline Mortarro Paolone.
He was a 1952 graduate of Girard High School and a member of St. Rose Church. Louis proudly served his country in the Air Force refueling squad from 1952 until 1956.
He worked at Packard Electric from 1958 until his retirement in 1990. In the 1980s, he was president of the 717 Labor Union.
Louis’ greatest joys were his children and spending his time on his front porch.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Barbara (Donald) Sampson of Mineral Ridge; his sister, Betty Bayer of Boardman; his grandson, Louis Paolone; and his beloved companion, Jackie Barr of Girard.
Besides his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his son, Michael Paolone; his daughter, Kathleen Phillips; his brother, Tony Paolone; his grandson, Eric Paolone; and his granddaughter, Kyla Carrillo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at Blackstone Funeral Home, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Louis will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery.
