(1934 - 2009)

Leroy K. Swetlik, age 75, a resident of 1229 S. 26th St., Manitowoc, entered into eternal life Thursday, June 25, 2009, at his residence while surrounded by his loving family.

Leroy was born Feb. 9, 1934, in Kellnersville to the late Quirin and Eleanor Braun Swetlik. On Oct. 12, 1957, Leroy married Sharon Klein at the former St. Paul's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He served in the United States National Guard for seven years, was employed with Kelvinator for almost 30 years and also owned and operated the Viking Drive Inn in Valders for nine years. He was a dedicated worker. Leroy enjoyed playing cards, driving tractor, golfing and was an avid Brewers and Packers fan. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family. Leroy was a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Manitowoc.

Leroy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sharon; two sons: Mark (Erin) Swetlik, Cape Coral, Fla.; Chris (Leanne) Swetlik, Manitowoc; two daughters: Kim Swetlik, Two Rivers; Star (Wayne) Green, Manitowoc; three brothers: Quirin "Junior" (Janice) Swetlik, Manitowoc; Allan (Susan) Swetlik, Massachusetts; and Dale (Lynn) Swetlik, Manitowoc; five sisters: Elaine (Leroy) Olson, Manitowoc; Beatrice (William) Antholz, New Holstein; Florence (Kenneth) Fredrick, Dundee, Ill.; Janice Wanek, Appleton; and Nancy (Ronald) Staudinger, Manitowoc; six grandchildren: Sarah, Jenah and her special friend Ben; Andy, Alex, Evan, and Emily; two great-grandsons: Keeghan and Kameron; a special friend, Mario; also other relatives and friends. Leroy was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Monday, June 29, 2009, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Deacon Paul Kieffer will officiate with entombment of Leroy's cremated remains to take place at a later date.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, corner of North Eleventh and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Leroy's family would like to extend a special thank you to Holy Family Hospice, Dr. Lynn Baatz, Dr. Thomas Rauschenberger and their staff.
