Peter Houvener departed this life April 11, 1904, aged 69 years, 11 months and 29 days. Funeral services were held in the Prairieville M. E. Church, Rev. Pope, hickory Corners, officiating. Wednesday afternoon, April 13, 1904. Decedent was born in Holland, April 12 1835, and was married to Elizabeth Johnson. (this is wrong, Elizabeth's last name was Jansen.) Oct 22, 1864. They came to America in the spring of 1872 and have lived in their present home for 22 years. He game his heart to God at the age of 15 years and has always been a devoted Christian man. A loving wife and ten children mourn for the loss of a loving husband and father. The children are: Henry C. of Saginaw, Jacob, John and Isaac of Hickory Corners, Peter J., Abram L, William and Edward A, of Delton. Mrs Herbert Knowles of Kalamazoo and Mrs. Jacob Felder of Orangeville. The lare concourse of friends and neighbors told how well he was estimated. He will lone be remembered for the many virtues of head and heart.
