Benji was a remarkable dog, we rescued him from an animal shelter where he had been taken after being found beside of the interstate.He had a big gash on his back,the vet had put stitches in it.They told us the dog could not bark,they had him for several days and there had been no sound from him in that time.On his second day at our house he began to make little sounds trying to bark, on the third day he was barking fine and loved his new home. He followed me around all the time and always lay by my feet when I was sitting. we had him for three years and loved him very much,Benji was an outside and inside pet,when it was warm he liked to stay outside,so one night he wanted to stay in his dog house outside,one of my neighbors had a very big dog they kept in a lot,a mean dog. so that night their dog some how got out and came in my yard. My husband heard dogs barking and looked out to see the big dog leaving our yard and we found Benji beside our back steps dead,when the big dog was checked he still had benji's fur in his mouth..It still tears me up to remember how I lost Benji,
