NORBERT WILLIAM SCHARENBROCH
(1925 - 2006)
Norbert William Scharenbroch, 81, of Charlevoix, Mich., and formerly of Manitowoc, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at the Charlevoix Area Hospital.
Rite of Christian Burial will be noon Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Charlevoix. The Reverend James K. Gardiner will officiate and burial will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Charlevoix.
Norbert was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Manitowoc, to John C. and Catherine (Schad) Scharenbroch. He married the former Alvina F. Zipperer on July 12, 1947, in Whitelaw. He was employed by the Medusa Portland Cement Company in Manitowoc, and transferred to the Charlevoix plant in 1967. Norb retired from Medusa in 1988 after 40 years of employment. He was a member of Saint Mary's Church in Charlevoix, and the Knights of Columbus, Pierre de Charlevoix Council # 7172. Norb enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Alvina of Charlevoix: children, Judy (David) Goodeman of Charlevoix, John (Elaine) Scharenbroch of Charlevoix, Diane Scharenbroch of Grand Rapids, Mich., Norbert G. (Carol) Scharenbroch of Charlevoix, Gail (Randy) Maki of Marquette, Mich., Kay (Chris) Gibbons of Grand Rapids, Mich., Jayne (Andy) Krim of Apple Valley, Minn., Annette Beer of Bay Shore, Mich.: 16 grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Schramm. and Bonnie Ebenhoe, both of Manitowoc. Norbert's brother Edward preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix, (231) 547-2881, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Mary's Church in Charlevoix.
