Manitowoc - Mary C. Ostertag, age 93, died Friday, February 2, 2018 at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village, Manitowoc.
She was born on November 22, 1924 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Michael and Melvina (Finch) Kubsh. Mary was a graduate of Denmark High School and graduated from Manitowoc County Teachers College and Silver Lake College. On April 7, 1947 she married Robert L. Ostertag of Oshkosh in Kellnersville, Robert, a World War II veteran, preceded her in death on January 15, 1961. Mary taught at several Manitowoc elementary schools and worked in retail until her retirement.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law; Mary Kay & Michael Gardenier, Daniel Island, S.C.; one son and daughter-in-law; Michael & Joan Ostertag, Howards Grove, WI; four grandchildren: David (Heather) Kiesling, Cheshire, CT; Melissa (Peter) Welch, Madison, WI., Todd (Amelia) Ostertag, St. Paul, MN; Anthony Ostertag, Raleigh, N.C.; three great grandchildren; Harry and Audrey Kiesling; Amanda Welch; and one sister: Gloria Wilfler, Scottsdale, AZ. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by one son: Mark Ostertag ;three sisters and two brothers-in-law; Alice Kubsh, Florence Kubsh, Helen & Vido Viscioni, John Wifler; and one brother and sister-in-law: LeRoy & Marilyn Kubsh.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Friday, March 2, 2018 at Blessed Angela Chapel at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Gerald Foley with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Blessed Angela Chapel at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village, Manitwoc, from 10:30 am Friday, March 2, 2018 until 11:15 am.
