Sharon was born in San Francisco, California, on January 26, 1947. She was the younger of two daughters born to Shirley May Shelby and James V. Lott. Sharon was very young when her father died. Her mother remarried, and she was raised by her mother and step-father, DeWayne Archer, in the San Francisco Bay Area. The second oldest of eight children, she and her older sister Lynn helped their mother care for their younger siblings. She was always there for any of them in need. Sharon married Gary William Fahien in 1963. However, that marriage ended in divorce. Sharon had one daughter and two grandsons.

Sharon worked for over 40 years as a waitress. She loved it. Her last place of employment was The Flames Restaurant, in San Jose, California. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Her favorite pastimes were crocheting, embroidering, coloring, playing cards and computer games, and gardening.
