Evelyn V. Banks, 86, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 12:38 pm in Hospice Franciscan Communities, Michigan City, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, June 9, 2017 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana. Pastor Bill Barnes will officiate with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation hours will be from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Thursday and Friday from 12:00 pm until time service at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana. She was born September 19, 1930 in Cyclone, West Virginia to the late James W. and Sarah R.(Sexton) Adkins. On January 30, 1954 in Cabell County, West Virginia she married Ralph Banks, who preceded her in death on August 1, 2001. Surviving are Daughter, Tammy (Jeff) Witherspoon of Michigan City, Indiana; Son, Ralph "Scott" Banks of Pendleton, Indiana; Five Grandchildren, Paige Witherspoon of South Bend, Indiana, Brandon Witherspoon of Michigan City, Indiana, Scott (Jennifer) Banks of Michigan City, Indiana, Timothy (Christina) Banks of Westfield, Indiana and Ronald (Sheri) Banks of South Bend, Indiana; Several Great Grandchildren; Two Nieces, Anita Jo Russell of Long Beach, California and Kathi Greasby of Michigan City, Indiana, Nephew, David (Lola) Ward of Rolling Prairie, Indiana and many other Nieces and Nephews; Sister, Hazel Frans of Ferrell, Texas; She was preceded in death by Three Sisters, Mary Eloise Russell, Opal Hill and Bessie Mae Ward; Six Brothers, Monroe, John Henry, Carl, Julious, Millard "John" and Arlie Adkins; Mrs. Banks worked as a Upholsterer at Kinsley Furniture, LaPorte, Indiana and Modern Trend, New Buffalo, Michigan .
