Mary Eloise Russell
Miss Mary Eloise Russell, age 76, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on November 26, 2011, at her residence. A Memorial Service will be held at Carlisle Funeral Home on Friday December 2, 2011 at 7:00 pm, with the Rev. Susan Siemers officiating. Visitation will be held at Carlisle Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until time of service. Interment of ashes will be held in Greenwood Cemetery on Monday December 5, 2011. Eloise was born on June 29, 1935 in Davin, West Virginia to James William and Sarah Ruth (Sexton) Adkins, both preceded her in death. Her son, William Grainger Russell, also precedes her in death. She is survived by her 2 daughters – Anita Jo Russell of Long Beach, California and Kathi Greasby, of Michigan City Indiana; two sisters – Evelyn Banks, of Michigan City, Indiana and Hazel Frans, of Terrell, Texas; her nephew – David Ward, of Rolling Prairie; niece – Tammy Witherspoon of Michigan City and many other nieces and nephews. Eloise retired from Jaymar-Ruby and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 2536 in Michigan City, Indiana. Eloise loved plants and flowers and tended her small garden every summer. She was an avid reader and bestowed her love of books on her children for which they are eternally grateful. Eloise was a kind soul and she is missed by her family and all those who knew her. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michiana Humane Society.
