Daughter of John Brown and Anne Kenny, wife of John Copeman, and mother of Robert Martin Copeman.

In 1870, Eliza A. Brown, aged 10, was living in Riverhead, NY, with her parents, John Brown, Senr., aged 46, a farm laborer, and Ann A. Brown, aged 35, and siblings, William A. Brown, aged 17, John Brown, Jr., aged 15, James Brown, aged 13, Joseph Brown, aged 12, Catharine M. Brown, aged 8, Rebecca Brown, aged 6, Susan Brown, aged 3, and Margaret Brown, aged 1.

In 1880, Eliza A. Brown, aged 19, was living in Baiting Hollow, NY, in the home of her parents, John Brown, aged 50, and Ann Brown, aged 45, with siblings, John K. Brown, aged 23, Jane Brown, aged 21, Joseph Brown, aged 20, Catharine Brown, aged 15, Rebecca Brown, aged 14, Susan Brown, aged 12, Margaret Brown, aged 9, and Robert M. Brown, aged 6 months. Her father was shown to be a farmer.

Marriage - Kopman - Brown - At Riverhead, October 31st, by Rev. N.J. McNulty, John Kopman to Miss Eliza Brown.

In 1900, Eliza Kopeman, aged 38, born September 1861 in New York, both parents born in Ireland, widowed, was living in Riverhead, NY. She was shown to be a nurse.

In 1915, Elizabeth Copeman, aged 55, was living on East Street in Riverhead, NY. Shown to be a nurse, she lived alone.

In 1925, Eliza Copeman, aged 64, a nurse, was living on East Avenue in Riverhead, NY. Living with her were lodgers, George H. Robert, aged 28, a carpenter, Henry K. McIntyre, aged 22, a carpenter, and Willian Malley, aged 27, a carpenter.

Obituary - Riverhead - Mrs. Eliza Copeman, who was a lifelong and highly esteemed resident of this place, died at the home of her son, Robert Copeman, at South Huntington, early last Friday following an illness of two months' duration. She was in her 70th year. Mrs. Copeman was a daughter of the late John and Anne Brown, of Riverhead. For more than 45 years as a nurse she had ministered in the sick room and always a welcome figure there, as her cheerful manner and devoted service helped to alleviate the sufferings of those who required her assistance and she is deeply mourned by them and her host of other friends. She was particularly fond of children and delighted in ministering to them. She was affectionately known to a large number of them as "Aunt Koke." Besides her son, Mrs. Copeman is survived by a grandson, Henry Copeman, a granddaughter, Florence Copeman, of Huntington, two brothers and three sisters, James Brown, of Great Neck; Joseph Brown, of Manhasset; Mrs. William Lutz, Mrs. J. Edward McCabe, and Mrs. Max Adams of Riverhead. The funeral was from the residence of the son of the deceased in South Huntington Monday morning, with a requiem mass in St. John's R.C. Church, Riverhead, the celebrant of which was Father Theodore C. P., vice rector of the Monastery at Jamaica, assisted by the Rev. Matthew A. Flanagan, pastor of St. John's. This was the third death in the family within two months. On September 21, Mrs. Copeman's brother, John K. Brown, died at Great Neck, and on November 12, her sister, Mrs. Rebecca Richard, wife of Frank E. Richard, of Riverhead, passed away at Eastern Long Island Hospital at Greenport.

Also - At the age of 59 yers, Mrs. Eliza Copeman, wife of John Copeman, of Huntington Station, died Friday of last week. The funeral and burial were held Monday with interment in St. John's Cemetery, Riverhead.

Estate - The People of the State of New York to John Copeman, whose whereabouts are unknown, that he may be dead, diligent inquiry has failed to reveal his whereabouts, persons interested in the estate as heirs at law, next of kin, and distributes or otherwise, of Eliza A. Copeman, late of the Town of Riverhead, County of Suffolk, deceased, sent Greeting; Whereas Robert M. Copeman and Anna G. Copeman, residing at 18th Street, South Huntington, N.Y., Executors named in the will of said deceased, lately applied to our Surrogate's Court of the County of Suffolk, to have certain instrument in writing bearing date the 20th day of September, 1930, relating to both real and personal property, duly proved as the Last Will and Testament of the said deceased.
Therefore, You and each of you are cited to show cause before our said Surrogate at the Surrogate's office in the village of Riverhead and Town of Riverhead, in the County of Suffolk, on Monday, the 19th day of January, 1931, at one o'clock in the afternoon, of that day why said instrument should not be admitted to probate as the Last Will and Testament of said deceased. And such of you as are hereby cited as are under the age of twenty-one years, may appear by your guardian, if you have one, or if you have none, you may apply for one to be appointed, or in the event of your neglect or failure to do so, a guardian will be appointed by the Surrogate to represent and act for you in the proceeding.
In Testimony Whereof, We have caused the seal of the Surrogate's Court of our said County of Suffolk to be hereunto affixed.
