Charles Amend, an employe at the Becker Cigar factory and well known here, died last Sunday after a several week's illness at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Schmieder where he was taken when his illness was found to be serious. He was 43 years of age and of a friendly, genial disposition which made him many friends. He was a man without family but has a number of brothers and sisters living long distances away. One brother form Minnesota and a sister of Sheboygan attended the funeral which was held on Tuesday, burial being in the public cemetery. The pallbearers were all employees of the Becker establishment with whom he had worked for several years.
