Major League Baseball Player. For five seasons (1958 to 1962), he was a pitcher with the Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Angels and Detroit Tigers. Born Jerry Joseph Casale, he was signed by the Boston Red Sox as an amateur free agent before the 1952 season. In his first game as a starter he pitched against the Washington Senators and the Red Sox won 7–3. Casale struck out eight and also hit a three run home run. After retiring from baseball he became a restaurant owner.
