Mr.Tripka was a former mayor of Garwood, NJ and a former councilman who was involved in many civic activities. He retired in 1989 as a manufacturing engineer for Adolph Gottscho Inc. in Union where he worked for 20 years.
He served as Garwood's Democratic municipal chairman and also was a commissioner for the Rahway Valley Sewage Authority.
He was taken prisoner in Germany while serving with the Army during WWII and also received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
He is survived by his loving wife, Aldona and son, Michael and four grandchildren, Andrew, Kathryn, Sarah and Amy.
