Private Babb served in the Virginia Continental Line under command of Col. C. Dabney. He fought at the Siege of Yorktown in 1781. He saw General George Washington and Lord Cornwallis after the British surrender. He completed his service in Richmond in Virginia State Legion and was discharged in 1782.
