Earl Sanders, 81, of 411 Appanoose died at 7:10 a.m. May 29, 1988, at his home.

He was born Sept. 10, 1906, in Ava, Mo., to Henry and Julia Wheeler Sanders. He was a former employee of Davenport Machine Foundry and lived in Ottumwa for the past 20 years. He married Ivalyne Stroup Sept. 18, 1950, in Mountain Home, Ark.

He is survived by his wife; four sons, Steven and Donald of Ottumwa, Eugene of Ava, Mo, and Danny of Dallas, two daughters, Nancy Risner of Republic, Mo., and Pearlyne Sanders of Ottumwa; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Burl of Ava, Mo., and three sisters, Dora Collins of Unionville, Mo., Mary Boehl of Bettendorf and Elona Levan of Ava, Mo.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Earl Jr. in 1979, and David in 1983.

The service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Ival Robinson of Bible Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Agency Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Harland, Jerry Carpenter, Jim Leonard, Art Smith, Doug LeGrande and John Gladson.
