MRS. E. BALOK IS SUMMONED
Resident Of This city For Past 44 Years To Be Buried Wednesday.
Mrs. Elizabeth Balok, a resident of this city since 1889, died at her home, 1024 E. Twelfth street at ten o'clock on Sunday evening, following three weeks illness of a heart affliction.
Her passing has brought deep sorrow to her children and friends, particularity in the community south of town where she lived for forty-four years.
Funeral services are to be held from the home, at 8:30 o'clock on Wednesday morning, and at nine o'clock from St. Stephen's church, with burial in St. Stephen's cemetery.
Mrs. Balok as Elizabeth Washko was born in Czecho-Slovakia, September 15, 1860. Her parents died when she was a very small child, and she was raised by relatives. Upon reaching maturity she decided to come to America, and immediately located in Streator. Her marriage with Andrew Balok occurred in this city a year later. To them three children, Mrs. Mary Bartko, Mrs. Julia Hilger and Andrew Balok all of Streator, were born, who are left. Mr. Balok died thirteen years ago.
Mrs. Balok was a devout member of St. Stephen's church and also of its auxiliary societies, including St. Mary's Society, the Holy Rosary Society and the Ladies Club.
