Cuba "Cappie" Captola Bond, 77, of Alexandria, passed away on Oct. 23, 2019, at Community Hospital of Anderson after a short illness.
Cappie was born on June 3, 1942, in Anderson, to Harvey and Pansey (Ruth) Alford.
She was a longtime employee at Bud & Joes, Anderson, and Bernies, Frankton.
She enjoyed life, people, working in the yard and garden, traveling, reading, puzzles, games, and thrifting. Nobody had more fun than she did.
Cappie is survived by daughters, Teresa (Mike) Ebert, Dana (Mike) Harrington, Cathy Amick, Ellen (Steve) Brady; sons, Donald B. Wagner and Michael Bond. She is also survived by her sister, Karon (Everett) Ball; and brother, James (Cheri) Alford. She was also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Cappie was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Bond; her parents; one son; one sister; and two grandchildren.
Per Cappie's request, no memorial services will be held. Rather, the family will hold a Celebration of Life on Oct. 27, 2019, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Millcreek Civic Center, 403 W. Main St., Chesterfield. The family will be placing her ashes with her husband at a later date.
