William Shattuck immigrated from England some time before 1642, when he was living between Belmont and Fresh Pond in Watertown. He lived near the clay pits, and near a spring commonly called Shattuck's Spring, probably on Common Hill (Memorials of the Descendants of William Shattuck, p. 59. ) His will was written 3 Aug 1672, and proved 29 Aug 1672, in Middlesex Probate Court. He was a weaver by trade. He married Susanna, who died 11 Dec 1686, in Watertown. His daughter Susanna (1643-1716) married Joseph Morse (1637-1677), of Watertown and Groton.
