Barbara was born on January 1, 1941, in Albany to Hugh and Eula Martin. She was an LVN and worked 17 years at the Shackelford County Hospital and 10 years at the Abilene State School. She was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters, Eula Beth Williamson, Virginia Graham, Lois Sue Schkade, Mary Jo Bounds, and Charlene Vickers, 2 brothers, John Martin, and Hubert Martin and her first husband, Carroll L. Kitchens.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Jones of Abilene; one brother, Bill Martin of Haltom City; a daughter, Betty Bennett of Denison; two sons, Ronnie Kitchens and wife Jana of Albany and Michael Kitchens of Abilene; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; 4 stepchildren, Heidi Jones of Edgerton, Wyoming, Jaime Jones of Midwest, Wyoming, Nanette Cain of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Yvette Tripp of Austin; 10 step grandchildren and 8 step great-grandchildren.
