Lincoln grew up in Rochester New York. He served in the Army Air Corps, in England, during WWII, loading bombs. After the war he married Jean Love, they had four children, Richard, Roy, Elizabeth and William. He owned a roofing buisiness until breaking his back from a fall. 40 years later he delighted in pointing out roofs he had installed that were still in good condition. After recovering from his fall he moved to Florida and built boats. However, for most of his life he was an over the road truck driver. He was divorced and moved to PA in 1967. Lincoln later married Marie - they were married until her death in 1992.
