DEATH OF THEODORE GALLAND

Pioneer Brewer Dies At Home In This City

Theodore Galland, president of the Northwest Loan and Trust company, and one of Spokane's well-known citizens died at 2:15 o'clock yesterday morning in his apartments at The Westminster, Pacific Avenue, and Spruce Street. For some time Mr. Gallaqnd had been in poor health. The final illness which resulted in his death was an ailment of the stomach, ending in paralysis.

Mr. Galland was a native of Oregon. He came to this city in 1891, serving several years as secretary and treasurer of the Galland-Burke Brewing and Malting Company. In 1902 he went to Portland to assume the management of the Gambrinus Brewing Company, a position which he was forced to relinquish because of failing health.

His next move was back to Spokane about a year ago, since which time he had held the presidency of the Northwest Loan and Trust company.

Mr. Gallaqnd was 45 years of age and a bachelor. His death is mourned by a large circle of friends.

He leaves three brothers, Samuel, Adolph, and Julius Galland, and his mother, Mrs. Adelaide Galland.

The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock a the Congregational Emanu-El, S712 Maple street. Rabbi David Levine will officiate.

The interment will be in the vault at Fairmount and will be private.
