She was born August 25, 1928, the eighth of ten children to the late L.A. Hedgepeth and Judy M. Hedgepeth. She was a member of Oxford Baptist Church. Rebie will be remembered as a dedicated wife, loving mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her daughter, Judy Hancock Currin (Baron) of Beaufort, N.C.; A son, William David Hancock of Oxford; seven grandchildren and eight great-granddaughters, a sister, Rachel Bruce of Hampton, VA.; a brother,Donald Hedgepeth of Yorktown, VA.; sister-in-laws, Lucy Hancock Moore and Lou Hancock of Oxford, Delphia Hedgepeth of Yorktown, VA.and Joyce Hedgepeth of Williamsburg,VA.and an array of loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Leora Paige Hancock, her son, Robert D. Hancock, Jr. and her beloved husband, Robert D. Hancock (Bob); four sisters and three brothers.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1 pm, Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Hancock Family plot, Elmwood Cemetary, Oxford, N.C. The Reverend Christopher Aho will officiate. Following the service a reception will be held in the fellowship hall, Oxford Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oxford Baptist Church, 147 Main Street, PO Box 298, Oxford, NC 27565.
