He was born Jan. 31, 1912, (a twin) in Mandan, North Dakota to Ambrose Renner and Bertha Schmidt,
Matt was a resident of Beverly Hills, California, for the past 45 years and was employed at Hughes Aircraft in nearby Culver City all that time, working his way up to lead foreman in his department. Matt loved the aircraft and aviation industry and also doing some work on Howard Hughes' famed Spruce Goose. Matt retired from Hughes Aircraft in 1977.
He pursued his hobbies, playing his Hammond electric organ for his family and friends and playing the stock market, at which he became quite proficient. He often attended the stock holders meetings in Las Vegas, his latest one was in May of this year.
He loved going on an occasional visit to North Dakota, to visit his brothers and sisters there and friends and relatives.
He is survived by six sisters, Ida Nelson, Ladysmith, Wisconsin, Bridget Zander, Tacoma, Washington, Pauline Adams, Camarilla, California; Mary Moser, Seattle, Washington; Clementine (Mike) Willihnganz, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Niola (Mel) Kruchten, Ashville, North Carolina; four brothers, Edward (Frances), West Allis, Wisconsin; Lawrence (Betty), Mandan, North Dakota; Nick (Mary), Mandan, North Dakota; and Anton (Dorothy), Moorhead, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Matt was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; his parents; his younger brother, Albert, who was killed at Pearl Harbor in 1941; his twin sister, Eva; and sisters, Rose and Margaret.
