Nick A. Renner, 85, Mandan, died February 18, 2012 at Medcenter St. Vincent Care Center in Bismarck.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Charlie Heidt as celebrant. Burial will be at the Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 20, 2012 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Parish Rosary/Vigil at 7:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Nick was born on November 2, 1926 to Ambrose and Bertha (Schmidt) Renner in Mandan, ND. He was raised in Mandan and educated at the Highland School and St. Anthony Catholic School. He married Mary Hartze on December 27, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bismarck. Nick's passion in life was farming and ranching and he and Mary lived and raised their children on their farm Southwest of Mandan, until they retired and moved to Bismarck.

Nick also enjoyed playing pinochle with his family and friends, doing crossword puzzles, but most of all spending time with his family. Nick enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren and they all enjoyed Grandpa Nick.

Nick will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Mary. They shared 59 wonderful years together. He is also survived by daughters, Josephine (Kelly) Vetter, Bismarck and Annette (Tim) Mjoen, Jacksonville, Fl.; sons, Robert James (Sharon), Bismarck, ND, James (Kathy) and Michael of Mandan, ND; sisters, Bridget, Pauline, Mary, Viola and Clementine; brothers, Lawrence, Edward, and Anton; grandchildren, Corey, Cayla, Crystal, Amanda and Angela Renner, Sarah Brewster, Sheila Joyce, Patrick Mjoen, Jessica Litto, Jennifer and Jonathan Vetter; great-grandchildren, Charlette, Weston, Phoenix, and Alexis.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents; son Joseph; sisters, Ida, Rose, Margaret, and Eva; brothers, Albert and Matt
