His non fiction writings include "Haïti et sa Banque Nationale" and "Le Départment des Finances et du Commerce d'Haïti" both written in 1896.

There is speculation that Frédéric fled with money from the National Bank of Haiti to Paris, France where he died in January of 1917. There is a burial record for him in the famous Père Lachaise cemetery that indicates that his burial date was 13 January, 1917.
