"Aged Pioneer to be Buried at Calvary -- Funeral service for Obed Macy, 78-year-old pioneer and a resident of Los Angeles for more than seventy years, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. L. Dartt of 4338 Kansas avenue early Tuesday will be conducted from the Cathedral Chapel, 9 a.m. tomorrow followed with burial in Calvary Cemetery under the auspices of Bresee Undertaking Company. The aged pioneer came to Los Angeles county with his parents in 1850, driving across the country from Indiana in a wagon pulled by an oxen team. He was a member of Pioneer Society of Los Angeles. Besides his daughter he leaves four sons, William H., Oscar J., Harry and Edwin; one brother, William Macy and two sisters, Mrs. Sam T. Foy of Los Angeles and Mrs. Taliefen Evans of Alameda."
