French Royalty. She was the daughter of King Louis XV of France and queen consort Marie Leszczynska, and the younger twin sister of Louise Elisabeth of France. She was considered to be a beauty and prettier than her elder twin, and described as gentle and melancholic to her temperament, reserved but intensely loyal, and gifted in music. The favorite child of her father, she never married, was never engaged, and no marriage negotiations were ever undertaken for her. She died of smallpox at the young age of 24. Her heart was interred at Val-de-Grâce but her body was interred at the Saint Denis Basilique.
