Catherine T. Micallef (nee Gant) of Carneys Point, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Gant, and by brothers Frank, John, Thomas, Joseph, Albert, Leo, Charles, William, James, and Paul. Catherine was also preceded in death, in 2013, by her husband, John (Jack) of 61 years. She is survived by her children, Joseph (Donna), Edward (Linda), Thomas (Shirley), James, Mary (Liz). Grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, Deanna, Christina, Sean, Heather and Stephanie; and her great-grandchildren, Brayden, Isabella, Joseph, Chloe, Gabriel, Mikah, Brayden and Carly and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in 1926, she attended St. James Grammar School and St. James High School. Upon graduation, she worked as a secretary at DuPont Chambers Works and as a school secretary within the Penns Grove-Carneys Point School district. After raising their children in Carneys Point, Jack and Catherine were involved in many community activities and developed life-long friendships in Hershey Run in DE, Leisureville in Florida, and Foxfield in PA. The family wishes to thank the staff at Merion Gardens in Carneys Point, NJ for their excellent care and friendship. We would also like to thank Fox Rehabilitation and Compassionate Care for their care and support.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at Ashcraft Funeral Home, 740 S Broadway, Pennsville, NJ on Sunday, December 15 from 6 to 8 pm and on Monday, December 16 from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gabriel (Corpus Christi), 369 Georgetown Road, Carneys Point, NJ at 11:00 am on Monday, December 16. Interment will follow at New St. Joseph's Cemetery, Swedesboro, NJ.
