(1926 - 2006)

Earl C. Kugler, age 79, of 4916 W. Viebahn Road, Manitowoc, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 8, 2006, at River's Bend Heath & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

He was born April 24, 1926, in Manitowoc, son of the late Earl E. and Emma (Pieschel) Kugler. Earl attended St. Boniface grade School and was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1944. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force during World War II, also serving during the Korean Conflict. On Oct. 2, 1948, he married the former Dolores Kozaczuk at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc, by the Rev. John Landowski. Earl was the owner of Kugler's Bait & Tackle, Manitowoc, for many years and was also employed at Manitowoc Engineering and Santa's Best. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and AmVets.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years: Dolores (Kozaczuk) Kugler, Manitowoc; three daughters and a son-in-law: Barbara and Robert Tryon, Manitowoc; Cynthia Haefke, Manitowoc; Ann Marie Paprocki, Black Earth; a son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Michelle Kugler, and their daughters: Hannah and Lindsey, Wrightstown; a sister, Cyrilla Marcus, Manitowoc; and his faithful friends: Ginger, Mittens ad Prince; six sisters-in-law: Tessie (Toots) Trottie: Florence Packowski; Serena (Savy) Lemberger; Phyllis Armstrong, Eleanor Kozaczuk; and Ruth Kozaczuk; and two brothers-in-law: Edward Decker and Russell Franke. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his best friends: Edward Decker, Heinz and Traute Weiler. He was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

The family will greet relatives and friends for a memorial visitation from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc. Officiating at the memorial service will be the Rev. Daniel Felton. Cremation has occurred.
