CHISHOLM, Adeline - In Ottawa, on July 11, 2002, Adeline Himmelman Chisholm, Springville and Ottawa, passed away in her 104th year. She was the wife of the late Dr. D. Hugh Chisholm (Springville); mother of Mary Maclaren and her husband Kenneth, Ottawa, and Margaret Spindler and her husband Harry, Dartmouth; grandmother of Gordon Maclaren, Osaka; Janet Maclaren and her husband Steve Dent, Toronto; Wendy Maclaren, Halifax, and Alec Maclaren, Ottawa; great-grandmother of James, Andrew, Alexandra and Margot Dent; sister of Frances Hansford (Ernest) and Helen Hansford, both of New Glasgow. She was predeceased by her parents, Newton and Jessie (Fraser) Himmelman; brother, James Himmelman; sisters Grace Fraser, Margaret McMullen and Annie Condon. She was the oldest graduate of the School of Nursing of Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. She continued to work as a nurse during the years of her marriage. She then spent many years as a hospital administrator in Nova Scotia, and in medical administration and nursing in Ottawa. A memorial service will be held in Springville Presbyterian Church at a later date. Donations in memory to Springville Presbyterian Church.
