On December 4, 2019, Angela “Ang” Squires Aldred, passed away at the age of 38 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Angela was born on March 7, 1981 in Farmington, UT to Phillip and Barbara Squires. She was the third of four children. Together, the Squires family enjoyed all the outdoors had to offer, and made many great memories on the ski slopes, waterskiing, and vacationing at Lake Powell.

After high school, Angela decided to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She treasured the time she got to spend in Portugal, and developed a love for the Portuguese people, cuisine, and language. Angela attended Utah State University where she obtained her undergraduate degree in civil engineering and then earned a master’s degree in ground water engineering from Colorado State University. While attending CSU, she met her future husband James. She saw the best in him, and even laughed at his lame jokes. They were married for time and all eternity at the Bountiful temple on January 5, 2008. Angela’s greatest joy in life was being a mother to their three children: Ariana, Ellis and Owen. She taught them ordinary, but extraordinary things . . . to love music, to work hard, to love learning, to be kind. She taught them about other countries, cultures, and languages. She planned amazing birthday parties, made Halloween costumes, and read countless books. Laughter and love were always present in their home, especially while singing and dancing together to Taylor Swift.

Angela loved reading anything and everything. She also loved to cook and could frequently be found searching Pinterest or the latest cookbooks for new recipes to try. Her craftiness was evident throughout her home with pictures, colorful walls and unique and stylish DIY projects. She also loved making toys and gifts for her children to enjoy, and was even working to complete several special projects for them up until her last day. She was known for her infectious smile and her kind and compassionate spirit. She would leave little notes in lunch boxes and throughout the house for her family to discover. She was also known to send an encouraging email or text to friends and family at just the right time. She truly had a gift for making others feel special and loved. Angela was a light to all that knew her and a great example of Chirstlike love and service. Angela loved her husband and family and the knowledge of being “together forever” kept her going through the roughest of patches.

Angela is survived by her husband, James Aldred, her children, Ariana, Ellis, and Owen, parents Phil and Barbara Squires, as well as older brothers, Calvin and Lamont Squires and younger sister Jessie Westover.

The family greatly appreciates the many friends, family members, doctors, nurses, and even complete strangers who have shown so much love and support and shared tears and laughter- through the chemo treatments, trips to Houston, doctors’ visits, etc.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 1721 Red Cloud Rd. Longmont, CO 80504 at 12:00pm.
