French comic singer with a beautiful tenor voice, he started in the south of France in 1908 under his true name, but it was already in use, so he chose the pseudonym Fortuné G., then very quickly Fortugé. He invented himself a character of joker Pierrot, and interpreted a comic repertoire ('Mes parents sont venus me chercher'). His Parisian career began at La Scala. Subsequently, he recorded several discs. In poor health, he died prematurely from the flu. He was buried in Bagnolet (and later in Cimetière Pasteur, 201 Rue Sadi Carnot, 93170 Bagnolet, France where he was found in the conservation files, but his tomb was taken up a very long time ago. It is therefore his memory that we will evoke here.
