Professional Wrestler. From 1953 to 1986, he made appearances for a variety of professional wrestling leagues, including WWC, Big Time Wrestling, NWA Hollywood, and the WWWF (before it was the WWF). Known professionally as "Wild Bull of the Pampas," he was an early pioneer of hardcore wrestling who, over his 30+ year career, wrestled in 21 different countries across five continents. He held multiple regional versions of the NWA Heavyweight and Tag Team Championships, and wrestled for the World Wide Wrestling Federation as well, culminating in him challenging WWWF Champion Pedro Morales in Madison Square Garden. Firpo, who became an American citizen in 1965 after his retirement, spent 25 years working for the United States Postal Service in San Jose, California.
