Caroline (Golet) Armstrong, 84, of Moodus, wife of 45 years to the late Howard E. Armstrong, passed away Thursday January 9, 2020, surrounded by her family at The Saybrook at Haddam in Haddam, CT.
Caroline was a life-long resident of Moodus, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Stankowski) Golet.
She was a graduate of Nathan Hale-Ray High School, class of 1953, and of Hartford Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1956.
She was a dedicated nurse who, prior to retiring well past the age of 70, had been a registered nurse for over 30 years at Chestelm Health and Rehabilitation Center in Moodus.
Caroline was also a parishioner of St. Bridget of Kildare Church, a member of the St. Bridget Ladies Guild, and a volunteer at the East Haddam Historical Society.
Caroline is survived by her son, Charles Armstrong of Moodus, and his wife Stephanie; daughter Amy Armstrong of Warrensburg, NY, and her husband John Poirier; two grandchildren, William Armstrong and his wife Christine, and Kathryn Armstrong and her fiancé Adam Schofield-Bodt; and three step-grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
She was predeceased by her brother, Charles "Kaziu" Golet.
Caroline's Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Bridget of Kildare Church, Moodus.
Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery, Moodus.
