Bonnie was born and raised in Douglass, where she forever called home. She graduated from Douglass High School and attended Massey Business College. She met and married Monte Wayne Kerr and the two spent over 50 wonderful years together until his passing in 2010. Bonnie spent most of her time doing things for her family which included having a fabulous garden that she was well know for. She raised her children with the same firm values that she was taught, and when the grandchildren came along, her heart was overjoyed. Bonnie was happiest when she was surrounded by those she loved the most, as she sat in her rocking chair, drinking her coffee and listening to her favorite country gospel songs. Bonnie also had a great hand at playing “42” and was always ready for a friendly game of Bingo! Her love of Christ was evident in her life. She spent many days at Douglass Baptist and Westside Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed the fellowship as she worshipped with her friends. Bonnie loved The Lord and often said she looked forward to seeing Him and spending her time in Heaven with her family and friends who had gone on before her.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Mark Kerr and wife, Kelly; grandchildren, Christina Bradshaw, Lila Herron and husband, Julian, John Mark Kerr, Jessy Wheeler and husband, Jim, Chase Singleton and Clay Singleton; 3 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Delilah Coats Rector; husband, Monte Wayne Kerr; daughter, Bambi Kerr; and sisters, Joyce Brashear and JoAnn Wisener.
