Southern Memorial Funeral Home sadly announces the passing of Ms. Beatrice Bouyer 93 of Georgetown Ga. Services are entrusted to. Southern Memorial. The One's Who Truly Care! When Only The Best Will Do. We ask that you please keep the Bouyer family in your prayers as they travel through this difficult journey.

On February 21, 1926 in Quitman Co, Georgia, the Lord blessed the union of the late Andrew and Hattie Slaughter with a beautiful daughter, Beatrice Slaughter. Mother Bouyer was the oldest of 10 children of 5 of the siblings preceded her in death.

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Timothy Bouyer (a Navy Veteran) on November 12, 1946. To this union eight children were born. They moved to New York, residing there for many years. They became faithful members of The Little Zion Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York; receiving Christ as their personal savior.

Mother Bouyer, and Deacon Bouyer decided to return to their birthplace for their retirement years in June of 1979. They became active members at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Then the Lord directed her path to become a devoted member at Faith Temple where she was recognized as the mother of the church.

Mother Bouyer was the Matriarch of the family. Her major priority was tak-ing care of her husband, her children, and her home. She not only took care of her own children; she would babysit for other people’s children as well. She was known as "Nana" to those who loved her, and to those in the community called her "Mrs. Bea."

After the loss of her beloved husband in 2003, Mother Bouyer began to show a decline in her health. She gave so much of herself with what little she had, and always tried to live pleasing in God’s sight. The Journey she traveled during her illness exemplified the inner strength she had as a wonderful woman.

On Tuesday, July 30, 2019, the Lord stretched out his arms to welcome his precious angel to glory.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: six daughters; Mae (Mel) Thornhill of Georgetown, GA, Christine Bouyer of Montgomery, AL, Dolores Benner of Queens, N.Y., Elizabeth (Homer) Bussey of Morris, GA, Marie Jones (Lionel) Ashe of Columbus, GA, and Estel Bouyer of Columbus, GA; two sons; Jeffrey Bouyer of Scotland, England and Thomas (Sandy) Bouyer of Brooklyn, NY; 21 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; two sisters; Edie Daniely of Georgetown, GA, Willie Mae Henley of Detroit, MI; two brothers; Herman (Inez) Slaughter of Columbus, GA and Nathaniel (Fannie) Slaughter of Detroit, MI; sisters-in-law; Eunice King of West Babylon, NY, Lena Mae (Theodis) Winslett of Gary, IN, Shirley Slaughter of Lumpkin, GA; brothers-in-law; James, Nathaniel Bouyer of Brooklyn, NY and Harvey Wilborn of Georgetown, GA; Aunts; Lee Ethel Tillman, Lillian Slaughter of Cuthbert, GA; nieces, nephews, other relatives, caregivers: Marilyn Ponder of Lumpkin, GA, Mattie Glover of Georgetown, GA and friends.
