Russell Wilson, 98, of Wellman Line Road; Yale, Michigan, died Sunday, Feruary 3, 2008 at McLaren Hospital in Port Huron, Michigan. He was born August 23, 1909, son of the late Frank and Hattie (Donnenworth) Wilson, in Fremont Township. He attended the Roseburg School and graduated from Yale High School in 1928. Russ has been a lifelong resident of Fremont where he and his family farmed. On August 31, 1940 he and the former Bernetia Mortimer were united in marriage. In 1945 they moved from the Detroit area back to Fremont Township where they have made their home for over sixty years. Bernetia passed away May 6, 2006.

Russ was a Fremont Township Supervisor/Assessor for twenty years and served one term as a Sanilac County Commissioner. He was a life long member of the Methodist Church (Roseburg and Greenwood) and a life member of Brockway Lodge #316, F& AM.

He is survived by two sons and daughters in law: James and Rene Wilson and Fredric and Bonnie Wilson of RD Yale; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; his siblings: Helen Brown of Yale, Frank Wilson, Jr. of Lexington; Donna Taylor of Melvin, and William Wilson of Fort Gratiot, and many nieces and nephews. Russ was preceded in death by his son Charles Robert (1948-1982) and siblings: Pauline Noble, W. Howard Wilson, Jean Shell, and Maribelle Reid.

His family honors the memory of Russell and invites you to visit and share Friday, April 25 from 4 to 8 PM at Kaatz Funeral Directos in Yale. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, April 26 at 10 AM with 10 AM visitation. His daughter in law, Rene Wilson will officiate. Internment will take place at the Fremont Township Cemetery, north of Roseburg. Memorials are suggested to Blue Water Hospice; Port Huron.
