OBITUARY: Obtained from microfilm of Marion Star newspaper, 25 March, 1968, p.4, in plastic, in file.
"Ollie Schneider, 91, former Marion businessman, died at 9:05 a.m. Sunday (Date on the newspaper clipping in Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus after a two-week illness. He had been residing with his daughter, Mrs. Kathryn McConnell, at 684 Stinson Dr. in the capital city. [Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio. NRP]. At 80, he retired from the floor covering business which he had operated since 1933 as 'Schneider & Gillis' in connection with Uhler-Phillips Co. Born Jan 6, 1877, in Columbus, he was the son of Joseph and Dora Diehl Schneider. His wife, Ada L. Knowles Schneider, died in 1946. He was a member of Central Christian Church*. Associated previously with the former Warner & Edwards Co., he went to work for the firm at 17. Surviving besides the daughter are two sons, Robert of 395 W. Church St. and Wallace K. of Elmhurst, Ill.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a brother, Frank of Bradenton, Fla. Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Denzer Funeral Home. Rev. John P. Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9" (Schaffner Denzer Funeral Home, East Center Street, Columbus. He died of a stroke according to Kay Schneider McConnell.
