Henry Maddick was born in 1844 in Canandaga, NY to Arthur and Elizabeth Ann Maddick. The Maddick family farmed in New York later moving to McHenry County, Illinois where on the 13th day of August 1862, Henry enlisted in the Illinois 95th Volunteer Infantry Regiment. Henry was assigned to Company E under the command of Capt. John Eddy. Company E Mustered out to Vicksburg, Ms on the 22nd day of May, 1863. Pvt. Henry Maddick was Killed in Action 23 May 1863. Henry's remains were relocated from the battlefield to The Vicksburg National Cemetery. According to the US Burial Registry for Vicksburg Cemetery, Henry was buried in Section G Grave No. 321.His grave is also identified as No. 4647 by records possessed by Ancestry.com.
