Alene Bagwell 75, of Stamford passed away Saturday February 1, 2020 in an Abilene Hospital. Funeral service will be Thursday February 6 at 11:00 a.m. in the Kinney-Underwood Funeral Chapel with David Carins officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday February 5, 2020 from 5:00-600 p.m. at the Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home.
Alene was born May 5, 1944 in Mineral Wells, Texas to Raymond Ray and Ruth Tomerlin Ray.
Alene owned and operated The Fashion Boutique in the Kiva Inn for many years. She moved from Abilene to Stamford in 1998. Some of Alene’s favorite pastimes were shopping, playing scratch-off lottery tickets and enjoying gummy bears. She loved spending time with her family and called her children every night.
Alene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Bagwell, Sisters Bobbie Joe Irvin, Patsy Allen, Barbara Sager and Jackie Deacon, also one brother Ted Ray.
Those left to cherish her memory are her life partner of 22 years Lynn Reid of Stamford; Children Tamela Boatright, David Boatright both of Stamford, Sheri Reid of Houston, Tiffany Archer of Lima, Ohio; Teresa, Missy and Brenda Bagwell all of Abilene; 12 Grandchildren; 10 Great-great grandchildren; 2 Great-great-great grandsons; 3 sisters Maxine Tucker of Mineral Wells; Sue Dement of Bridgeport and Sandra Bush also of Bridgeport.
