Martin(Marty) Hugh McClure
Martin(Marty) Hugh McClure passed away Thursday, November 28th at the Reno NV Veterans Hospital at the age of 67.
Marty was born to Samuel and Rita McClure on November 17 1952 in Santa Monica, CA and raised in Palos Verdes,CA. After graduating Rolling Hills High School in Palos Verdes.CA, Marty enlisted and served in the USMC in 1973 – 1976. After serving our country, Marty found his way to Lassen County while visiting a brother. It was then that he talked his parents into moving the rest of the family to Susanville when their father retired.
Marty the fourth of twelve kids. Brother Greg(Deborah) of Lompoc CA; Mike(Julie)Fairfield IA; Marie (deceased); Steve(Leslie) Standish CA; Margo Anaheim CA; Patty(James) Carson City NV; Will (Deceased); Doug (Myoung) Pittsburg CA; Terri(James) Susanville CA; Tom(Debbie) Doyle; CA, Liz(Pat) Standish CA.
Marty has four children that he is proud of from a marriage with Kathy Payne McClure. Sam(Melinda) grandchild Anna San Diego CA; Mary(Thad) gc Harrison and Francis Tulsa OK; JoAnne Washington DC; and Joe Tulsa OK.
Marty has shared his last 16 years with his wife Donna which grew his family ring to include her son Ryan gc Kaiya from Nevada City CA.
Marty loved God, his family, and his country. He enjoyed reading historical books, hiking, animals, and treasured moments with family and special friends.
We celebrate Marty with Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Susanville on Saturday, December 14th at 11:00am, following graveside at Diamond Crest Cemetery, and a potluck reception at Monsignor Moran Hall.
