"Carl Koenig died at the home of his son, Robert Koenig, near this city on Tuesday morning. He had been in feeble health for many years with rheumatism and for the past ten years had spent much of his time in an invalid chair. At the home of his son he had received all the care and comfort possible.
Deceased was born in Germany and at the time of his death, was aged 85 years, 8 months and 20 days. He came with his family to America in 1854 and settled in the town of Honey Creek in this county, in 1861 he moved to Buffalo county where he lived for 40 years and during the last days of his life has made his home with his son near Baraboo.
His wife died some years ago and he is survived by nine sons and daughters:

Mrs. Rosa Klose, Holton, Mich.

Charles Koenig, Montreal, Canada.
Funeral on Friday morning at the residence west of the city, conducted by Rev. Moeller of the Lutheran church. Interment in Rock Hill cemetery."
