Ercole was a tailor by trade.

During the second World War he was taken by the Nazis and sent to the Gelsenkirchner Bergwerks, a forced labor camp. Upon his release, he walked home through the mountains to rejoin his family, who were sheltering in Opi.

He came to America in 1954, with his wife and daughters following the next year. He lived in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

He and Lucy moved back to Italy in 1975, and sadly, he passed away shortly afterwards.
