Mrs. Beatrice Sterling Proctor, widow of Rodney Proctor of Palm Beach, and mother- in-law of Rt. Rev. Anson Phelps Stokes Jr., bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, died yesterday in New York after a brief illness. She was 75. Mrs. Proctor was born in Larchmont, N.Y., a daughter of Joseph H. and Blanche Groesbeck Sterling. She was a member of the Garden Club of America, the (Mass.) Garden Club, of New York. Mrs. Proctor gave a collection of shells to the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Stokes in Brookline and Mrs. Peter H. B. Frelinghuysen of Morristown NJ and seven grandchildren.
