He was born on Westport Island on July 7, 1924, the son of Robert T. and Mary Jane Routh Greenleaf Sr.
He attended Westport Southend schools. On Jan. 26, 1957, he married Mary Louise Murray.
He worked as a lumberman for his father. He then enjoyed working as a fisherman for several years.
He also held various positions at Stinson's Canning Co. in Bath. Mr. Greenleaf was an avid hunter.
He was predeceased by a stepson, Robert J. Pelletier, in 1994; and three brothers, Amos Greenleaf, James Greenleaf and Gilbert Greenleaf.
He is survived by his wife of Westport Island; three sons, Steve Greenleaf and Alan Greenleaf, both of Old Town, and Albert Greenleaf Jr. of Westport Island; two daughters,
Carol Greenleaf and Brenda Redding, both of Old Town; two stepsons, Wayne Pelletier of Conway, N.H., and Paul Pelletier of Charleston, R.I.; a stepdaughter, Kathy Lindey of Vassalboro; a brother, Robert T. Greenleaf Jr. of Westport Island; three sisters, Ada Colby of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mary Jane Parker of Somersworth, N.H., and Elizabeth Brown of Westport Island; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at Greenleaf Family Cemetery on Westport Island at a later date.
Arrangements are by Mayo & Daigle Funeral Home, Federal Street, Wiscasset.
