Glen was born to Oscar Ely Lewis and Ethel Amy Steele Lewis in Hot Springs, South Dakota and came to Des Moines, Iowa with is parents as a child.

He married Virginia Earl Lewis in June 6, 1939. They had one child, Gail Margaret Lewis who after her parents deaths was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Strickland of Palatka, Florida.

Glen's siblings were Ada Riddle, Leona Smith,Rufus Lewis,Clifford Lewis and Mamie Burger. (See Lewis' in this cemetery).

During WW2 Glen worked at the Ammunitions Plant in Johnston, Iowa. Later he worked as a house painter until his death due to a heart condition.

He was member of Union Park Christian Church.

The birthdate for Virginia on gravestone is incorrect. It should read 1916.
