Lakewood Citizen, Friday October 20,1933:
"Mrs Harriet Adams, who has made Lakewood her home for the past forty years, died suddenly at her home, 308 Monmouth Avenue, on Saturday morning. Death was due to a heart attack.
Mrs Adams, who was in her seventieth year, was born in Roxbury, England, the daughter of Mr and Mrs William Atwood. She came to Lakewood in 1893 and for many years her husband, who died a number of years ago, was chef for the late George J Gould at Georgian Court.
Two daughters and one survive. They are Mrs Fred Southwick of Rosebank Avenue, and Mrs Charles Marian of First Street and William Adams of Rosebank Avenue.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday morning at the Westhall Chapel with the Rev John M Hunter, rector of All Saints Episcopal church, of which Mrs Adams was a member, officiating. Burial was made in Woodlawn Cemetery".
