David was born June 11, 1948 in Muskegon, Michigan to Otto Sidney Clemmons and Ester Ramona Fowler. He served in the United State Air Force, with tours of duty in Vietnam and Germany. David never married and had no children. He worked in Fire Protection in the military and subsequently after his discharge on a military base. David was also a break man for Grand Trunk Western in Michigan. David enjoyed working security for Argus and helping to keep entertainment venues safe in Denver.

David had a passion for movies, and military science fiction, fantasy and alternative history. His favorite author was David Weber. David had an ongoing fascination with historical military documentaries and American politics. David was a good guy, always willing to help anybody and generous with whatever resources available to him.

David was preceded in death by his father, Otto, his mother, Ramona and half-sister, Signora. He is survived by his sister Deborah and his brother Rodney, and several aunts, an uncle, cousins, nieces, and nephews
